NEW MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

  • CLINICAL – Individuals who have a minimum of a master’s degree in a mental health field; state licensure in mental health field; a minimum of 300 hours of group psychotherapy experience; a minimum of 75 hours of qualified group supervision ($100)
  • ASSOCIATE CLINICAL -- Individuals who have a minimum of a master’s degree in a mental health field; state licensure in mental health field. ($100)
  • NEW PROFESSIONAL -- Individuals who have a minimum of a master’s degree in a mental health field. ($45)
  • STUDENT – Individuals who are currently enrolled in a graduate degree granting program in the mental health field. Student members are assessed reduced annual membership dues. ($45)
  • HONORARY -- Individuals who have made distinguished contributions to group psychotherapy and whom the Board of Directors selects, according to criteria established by the Board. Honorary members are exempt from payment of dues. ($45)
  • EMERITUS – Individuals who are 75 years of age or older, who have retired from full practice, and who have been members of the Society for no less that 10 years. Emeritus members are assessed reduced annual membership dues. ($45)
  • ADJUNCT – Individuals who have a bachelor’s degree and/or certification in therapeutic, educational, pastoral, counseling or consultation settings, in addition to group experience in any of the aforementioned areas. ($45)
  • ORGANIZATIONAL AFFILIATE – Organizations that have good standing within the community and make an educational commitment to their membership or clients through attendance at The Basic Principles of Group Psychotherapy course offered by the Society. Organizational affiliates must send three members of the organization to attend the Basic Principles course free of charge, annually; members of the affiliate organization may attend LAGPS events at member rates; the affiliate organization may list their groups within the LAGPS directory, and may have a link to their website from the LAGPS website.
