ABOUT LAGPS
Since its founding in 1955, the mission of the Los Angeles Group Psychotherapy Society has been to facilitate training, research, education, supervision, and the exchange of ideas in group psychotherapy. We believe strongly in the efficacy and viability of group therapy as a primary modality of psychological treatment and emotional support.
The quality of the Society's activities is enhanced by being the Los Angeles local affiliate society of the American Group Psychotherapy Association since our founding. AGPA's journal and meetings are known for their scholarship and relevance worldwide.
The greatest strength of LAGPS is the quality of our membership. When you become a member of LAGPS you are identifying yourself as a practitioner who is dedicated to the highest standards of practice, collegiality, and professional development and joining a community of group therapists who provide mutual support, encouragement, networking, and professional growth. We welcome therapists at every stage of their careers.
